Step 1
Find a bookworm in her natural habitat. For the more extravagant species, the local bookstore is her preferred location, while the cheap type will be hiding in the stacks at the library. Approach with caution as she has been known to run away quickly when confronted with a member of the opposite sex.
-
Step 2
Improve your vocabulary to match your bookworm's, concentrating on the area he finds interesting. If your book lover reads everything ever written by Stephen Hawking, you need to at least know the definition of black hole. Try to include your newfound knowledge in casual conversations.
-
Step 3
Join a book club with your book lover and you can have little tête-à-têtes discussing the deeper meaning of each character's actions. If you're afraid you won't be able to find any deeper meaning, join the book club by yourself and then steal the ideas of other members and throw them out in casual conversation with your bookworm later.
-
Step 4
Be prepared to spend evenings alone in front of the TV, as your bibliophile spends a lot of time reading. Pretend it doesn't bother you to be ignored for 5 hours at a time or find other friends to go out with on the days a new book by your bookworm's favorite author is released.
-
Step 5
Buy gifts that your book maniac will enjoy. Custom imprinted bookplates or a rare edition book make excellent gifts. Splurge for tickets to a book signing in an exotic location and you may find your bookworm even leaves the hotel for a few hours to take you out sightseeing.
-
Step 6
Rent a movie based on a book and cuddle up with your book lover for an evening of entertainment. Be prepared afterwards to discuss how the movie differed from the book and why it wasn't as good.
