PC game reviews are a great way to get an idea of the quality of a PC game. There are so many PC game reviews on the Internet that it can be hard to get a good idea of the quality of a PC game. Here are some steps to help you find a trusted PC game review site and assist you with making the decision to buy a game.

From Quick Guide: PC Games
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a site you trust. There are hundreds of websites where you can find PC game reviews, but not all of them are going to offer smart or comprehensive reviews. Many little game sites offer more opinion as opposed to an objective view. There are also bigger sites that don't have great reviews so don't trust a site on name alone.

  2. Step 2

Take a few PC games you really enjoy or know well and see how particular sites review them. This will help you form an opinion on how they review games and if you think you can trust their reviews.

  3. Step 3

Figure out what the review scale is. Some PC game reviews sites use number scales like one to five, one to 10 or one to 100. Other sites may use letter grades. The thing you need to find is what the different possible scores mean. A score of seven on one site could be average while on another site it means a game is really good.

  4. Step 4

Pick out the points that are important for you in a game and focus on those in a review. If you are someone who really likes a good storyline in a game and graphics are not as important, a final score could be deceiving if a game is knocked down a few points because it doesn't have great graphics but does have a killer storyline. Don't base your impressions of a game review on a final number but instead on the components that make up the final number.

  5. Step 5

Check out a couple of reviews before you make a decision. Some sites offer several different reviews all on one page that can help you see what different media outlets and users are saying about a game. This will help you get a better overall view of a game.

  6. Step 6

Try not to take a review's word about a game as absolute truth. In the end, PC game reviews are still subjective, so if there is a game you really want to play, don't let a review dissuade you from playing it. Use PC game reviews to help you make a decision but don't let them make a decision for you.
