Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a Series 6 study book and software kit. The software includes practice tests so you can get a feel for what the testing experience will be like. This is an invaluable tool when it comes to exam preparation.

    • 2

Study, study, study. Spend at least one to two hours a day studying the material for four weeks before taking the exam.

    • 3

Review the most heavily tested areas.

    • 4

Get a good night's sleep before the test. You will be more coherent and better able to relax if you're well rested.

    • 5

Use your time wisely while taking the test. You only get 135 minutes (or two hours and 15 minutes) to finish 100 questions on the Series 6 exam. Don't spend too much time on the questions you don't know; keep moving and come back to those questions at the end if you have time.

    • 6

Read each question thoroughly and look for the words "not" or "except." These have a way of confusing test takers.

    • 7

Stick to your first answer. Don't change your answer once you've selected a choice; go with your gut and stick with it.
