Unwanted facial hair is a real problem for many women. To deal with it, you want something that is as painless as possible and that gives you a long-lasting result. If you do wax your upper lip, you can expect to be hair-free for up to six weeks. Plus, with a little bit of know how, you can wax your upper lip at home instead of spending money at a salon.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gentle facial cleaner
  • Washcloth
  • Facial wax
  • Craft stick
  • Small cloth strips
  • Cotton balls
  • Facial wax remover
  1. Step 1

Prepare your upper lip for waxing. Use a gentle cleaner to cleanse the area thoroughly before attempting to wax it. Dry the area with a washcloth.

  2. Step 2

Get the wax ready for application. Warm the wax according the instructions on the package. Heat it for the shortest amount of time recommended, stir with your craft stick and continue heating it until it's the consistency of honey. When you think that it's warm enough, place a small amount on the back of your hand to make sure it isn't too hot.

  3. Step 3

Apply the wax. Using the craft stick, apply the wax in a downward stroke on one half of the upper lip. Do one half at a time to prevent the wax from hardening.

  4. Step 4

Place a small strip of cloth over the warm wax. Press down a few times to help the hair adhere to the strip. Then hold the skin tight and pull the strip off in a downward motion.

  5. Step 5

Repeat with the other side until all the upper lip hair is removed.

  6. Step 6

Remove any waxy residue. Place a tiny bit of facial wax remover on a cotton ball, and apply gently to the upper lip area to remove any wax that's left over from the process.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your hair should be at least ΒΌ inch long before you attempt to wax your upper lip.
