For an excellent library of free PDF ebooks go online to PlanetPDF.com. Everyone loves 'War and Peace', "Wuthering Heights', and Jane Austen's 'Emma'. You can download these great classics and many more, as free ebooks that you will be able to read on your computers PDF software program.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with internet.
  • Acrobat or another PDF software program.

Step1
Use your computer to go online to the PlanetPDFcom website below; http://www.planetpdf.com/free_pdf_ebooks.asp?CurrentPage=1
Step2
Choose the book that you would like to download to your computer by clicking on it's title. It will open up in your computer's PDF software program. (If you do not have a PDF program on your computer you can download one by choosing the 'Find PDF Software' button at the top of the webpage, then follow the directions for choosing and downloading.)
Step3
Click on '150KB' for the 'Standard PDF' option or '230KB' for the 'Tagged PDF' option and the ebook will download to your PDF program immediately. The 'Tagged PDF' option should work better for computers with different page and screen widths and with handheld devices. It should also work better with screen-reader devices for special needs users.
Step4
Use the 'Bookmarks' options in your PDF program to navigate the ebook chapters. Click on the 'Save' icon if you would like to save the ebook to your computer. You can use the 'Create new folder' option and name the folder 'My PDF' or 'My Ebooks' if you would like to organize your ebooks.
Step5
Read and enjoy.

on 3/2/2008 Wow! Cool idea - moneysaving as well (unless I print the entire book, which is an option at least). I didn't realize about the bookmarking feature of adobe but will use it now; many thanks!!
