1. The key is wrapping your forefinger and thumb around the hole in the helmet near your ears, and pulling them apart.

2. Another way to stop your ears from bending is to wear a snow cap over your head while also covering your ears, the helmet will slide right over the cap, no harm done.

3. If the snow cap is too hot for you, try a bandana instead. It isn't quite as effective, but it gets the job done!

• The cap or bandana doesn't have to cover your whole ear, just about an inch over your ear.
