Step1
Verizon entered the fiberoptic television market with a product called FIOS and is gaining more experience in that area. The reception is high definition and the package will also allow for wireless internet and superior phone lines.
Step2
Make sure that Verizon's fiberoptic networks cover your area. If they're not in your area, see if they can route a fiberoptic cable your direction. If this isn't possible, find out when their fiber optic cables will cover your area. For some neighborhoods, it might take a few months to happen.
Step3
Arrange a service connection date. Chose a time when you won't have any interruptions, when you don't have to be anywhere, and when you or someone you know would be present when the technician arrives.
Step4
Position the TV near where they'd be able to connect it to the fiber optic cables. This way, once they hook your house up, you could ask them to hook your TV up as well. Many of these technicians are going to be evaluated. Verizon may ask you to rate the service that you receive. The technicians know this, they are more than happy to do that extra step for you. If this is a part of the service by the time you get connected, then this step is automatic.
Step5
Review your fiber optic television user manual. Know it very well. Practice some options until you get them down cold. Know what to do if you have a connection problem, which includes troubleshooting. When a problem does occur, you are in a position to resolve it. If not, you know what you tried to do and may be able to help support hone in on a possible problem. Your familiarity would be at a level to where you might be able to fix the problem when you talk to technical support.
