So you've met a new girl, and you already have to buy a present. No matter what the occasion, if you invest a some time and a thought, you can come up with a gift that will melt her heart.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Think about how long you have been with her. The gifts given in the first few months of a relationship should be fun and creative, not extravagant.
Step2
Brainstorm. Think about what she likes, what she has, what she needs and what she is interested in. In some cases, just paying attention to what she says will provide you with a boatload of ideas.
Step3
Be thoughtful. For some women, cooking her favorite dinner at home might mean more than taking her out to eat. But for others, trying out that new restaurant in town might be the ticket. The bottom line is to show your new girlfriend that you think she is worth the effort it takes to plan a nice evening or purchase a gift.
Step4
Get personal. Did she mention she wants to start working out or see more movies? Running shoes or a movie-theater gift certificate is sure to be a hit. But be careful. If she hasn't mentioned wanting to work out, and you buy her running shoes, you could inadvertently be sending her the wrong message.

Tips & Warnings

  • Snoop around. If your gift is something she will wear, she will be stoked if it fits right. Look in her closet to discover her size.
  • Be sure to keep the receipt, just in case.
  • Avoid generic gifts. Buying perfume or jewelry that has no meaning is just as thoughtless as nothing at all. However, if you know it is her favorite perfume, go right ahead.
