1. Start by researching the market price. Barbie dolls are on sale on all online auction sites. Barbie has numerous collector websites dedicated to her. Barbie collectors also have dozens of message boards where they post questions about prices and rare Barbie collectibles.

2. Consult one of several print magazines devoted to doll collecting. These magazines have classified sections for both buyers and sellers. The Barbie market has millions of collectors with thousands of serious collectors worldwide.

3. Attend one of dozens of large doll collector conventions held across America. These are the best places to meet potential buyers face-to-face. Buyers like to examine collectibles up close and are willing to pay considerably more for the chance to view rare Barbies. Doll collecting conventions are also a good place to connect with other sellers to get an idea of the market value of Barbie collectibles.

4. Search for large doll stores. There are hundreds of doll stores and doll catalogs in America and the owners and staff are often willing to offer their expert advice on selling collectible dolls.
