How to Find NBA Player Stats

. It used to be that you'd have to rely on newspapers or magazines, but now you can find updated NBA player stats on the Internet. Here's all you need to know.

1. Decide what kind of NBA player stats you want to find. You can find stats on an individual player. You can find NBA team stats. You can also find NBA league leaders, which tells you the league leaders in each statistical category. You'll need to pick a certain type of NBA player stats to begin your search.
2. Go to the official site of the NBA. Once at the NBA website, you can easily find player stats, team stats and league leaders. To find player stats, click on "Players" along the top navigational panel. Then click on the name of the player you wish to see stats on. The resulting page will list both season and career stats.
3. Find team stats by clicking on "Stats" on the home page of the NBA website. On the next page, click on "Team Stats" and you will see a listing of team statistics. These stats include things like average points per game, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and many other statistics for each team in the league.
4. Use the pull down menu to select stats for entire season, the last five games, the last ten games or the playoffs.
5. Locate the league leaders by click on "Stats" on the home page and then selecting "League Leaders." The resulting page will show which NBA players are the current league leaders in a variety of statistical categories.
6. Surf over to the Basketball-Reference website. Once you are on the Basketball-Reference website, type in the last name of a player you want to look up in the "Player Search" box, and then press the "Go" option. The resulting page will show you players in the NBA with that last name. Click on the name of the particular player you are looking for to see their stats. The Basketball-Reference website is a great tool if you want to see stats for retired NBA players.
7. Bookmark the page that has the type of NBA player stats that interest you. Go back frequently to see the updated stats as the NBA season progresses.
