The first step in dealing with spasms is to see a doctor. Muscle spasms are treatable with medication. You can also help control spasms through exercise, therapy, massage and self-discipline.

      Try changing your daily routine. Limit the amount of walking or moving around, try it for several days to see if that helps the spasms get better.

      Exercise your legs by standing and sitting (squats) or other methods that help stretch the muscles.

      Do yoga or other relaxation methods. Try a yoga workout for a few days in a row to see how it affects your muscle spasms.

      Find a massage therapist who specializes in multiple sclerosis massage. Ask your doctor for a referral.

      Adjust your daily life in any way you think may help the spasms decrease or go away.
