How to Chew Tobacco
The act of chewing tobacco should not be confused with dipping. "Chew" comes in pouch or plug form while "dip" is cut fine like sawdust and is sold in small tins. The granules of "dip" allow more nicotine into the dipper's blood stream than "chew" does. "Chew" on the other hand has a mellower, richer tobacco flavor. The following steps will help you get the most out of chewing tobacco.
Instructions

1
Open your pouch or unwrap your plug of chewing tobacco.
-
2
Select an amount to chew. If you have a pouch of loose tobacco, reach in with your thumb and index finger and grab a fairly sizable portion of tobacco, then roll it into a tight ball the size of a marble. Place the ball between your cheek and gums. If you have a plug, bite off about one sixth of the plug and place it between your cheek and gums.

3
Close the pouch or plug back up so it is airtight. Put it in your pocket. The flattening action helps the tobacco to stick together so that future chews will stick together nicely.
-
4
Begin chewing. The chewing action refers to the occasional spinning of the wad of tobacco in your cheek to keep the wad wet.
-
5
Spit out the juice when it accumulates in your mouth. Not all of the nicotine will go into your bloodstream; some will stay in the juice in your mouth.

Tips & Warnings
If you have a plug of tobacco, try not to tear the cellophane too much as you will need it to protect the unchewed portion, keeping it wet and clean.
Actually biting the tobacco will cause large amounts of juice to be squeezed out of the wad, and will shorten the amount of time that the wad is producing juice for you to savor.
It is illegal for minors to use tobacco products.
Swallowing the juice left in your mouth can cause an upset stomach, a sore throat and sometimes vomiting. Spit into a cup frequently.
