Step 1
Start with the dress. Morticia Adams always wore a fitted long black dress with long flowing arms and a flowing skirt. Search around town for a similar dress at a thrift shop or costume shop.
-
Step 2
Do the 'do. A Morticia Adams costume is not complete without the hair. For those with long straight hair, the natural look can work if you don't mind dying or spraying it. Wigs are also available to give you the classic gothic princess look.

Step 3
Make yourself up. The character was gothic, and part of her charm was her dramatic make up. Use fake eyelashes to enhance the eyes, and use lots of purples and grays on the eye lids. To make a Morticia Adams costume work, you will need to use lots of make up, especially to give you the gaunt pasty skin tone. She had vibrant red lipstick, and you will need to use a solid liner to get the pronounced shape to the lips.

Step 4
Use accessories. Morticia Adams loved roses. There are many scenes in the newer films that show her cutting and grooming her beloved roses. For an added effect, carry a single blood red rose.
