Things You'll Need:
- Dollar bill or a similar-sized piece of paper
- Two paper clips
-
Step 1
Find a dollar bill (any denomination works) and two paper clips of the same size. This trick works best with smaller paper clips (rather than heavier, larger ones), although it will usually work with any size.
-
Step 2
Fold the dollar bill into an S or a Z formation. Draw a Z in the air with your finger and then imagine one end of the bill as where your finger starts moving, and the other end where your finger stops. Then fold the bill accordingly. The bill should look like that formation when you view it from the edges.
-
Step 3
Attach the first paper clip to the bill. It should attach the center part of the bill to the outer part (the bill should be in three parts), the part farthest away from you. This will put the paper clip somewhere on the left half of the formation.
-
Step 4
Attach the second paper clip to the bill, fastening the center part to the inner part (the part closest to you). This paper clip will be on the right half of the formation.
-
Step 5
Pull each end of the bill quickly in opposite directions. The paper clips should fly off the bill and link themselves together.
