Wario Ware: Smooth Moves on the Wii is a series of microgames that will have you sawing logs, sautéing supper, navigating paper airplanes and many more scenarios. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves on the Wii uses the Wii controller in fascinating ways and is sure to be a party hit for gamers and non-gamers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Stand up and get into it. The best way to experience Wii games like Wario Ware is to stand 5 to 10 feet back from your television. Make sure that you are square with your TV and that you are holding the Wii controller with the wristband securely fastened. The microgames in Wario Ware require you to do a lot of stuff with the controller so it is important to be sure it is secure.
Step2
Set up a new game. Start the game and select "Single" to start a new single-player game. Choose the option for a new game and input your name. You can have twelve different profiles saved for Wario Ware. Pick a Mii from your personal collection to represent your new player and select your dominant hand. This will get you started on the story-mode of the game.
Step3
Hold the Wii controller as instructed. There are over 200 microgames in Wario Ware that use several different positions for holding the Wii controller. There will be a quick prompt before each game that will tell you how to hold the controller. Some of the positions are the remote control, the umbrella, the chauffeur and the elephant.
Step4
Be fast. The microgames in Wario Ware only last a few seconds so you have to try to figure out what you are supposed to do and accomplish the task in a flash. Some of the games are straightforward while others you may have to try a few times to figure out what exactly you have to do.
Step5
Play with a group of friends. You have to play all the way through the single-player mode before you can open the multi-player option, but the single-player mode is short and the multi-player is completely worth it. You can have up to twelve people playing at once, so get some friends together and have a good laugh.

Tips & Warnings

  • Find out little tricks that work for you on each of the different positions. For example, on the "Discard" position, you do not have to lay the controller flat on a separate surface. Instead you can lay it flat in your off-hand and keep really still until you have to pick it up.
  • Be aware of your surroundings when playing Wario Ware. You will be making quick, big motions with the Wii controller at points so make sure there is no one close to you that you might hit and be careful for breakable or hard items such as walls and light fixtures that you may accidentally hit and injure yourself.
