Instructions

1. Make sure both of you bring your identification so that the government will know who you are and what country you are from. Bring passports, birth certificates and anything else you might find necessary.

2. Bring copies of a death certificate to St. Kitts if you are widowed. Also you will need a decree absolute if you have been divorced previously.

3. Submit the required Catholic Church documents if you want to have your marriage ceremony performed by a Catholic priest. You will have to undergo marriage counseling before you do this. You will have to get a letter from your resident priest at home stating that you are both single.

4. Bring ID to prove your age. You must be over 18 to legally get married. If you are under 18 and over 15 years of age, you will need legal consent and a signature from a guardian or parent.

5. Bring money for the St. Kitts marriage license, which is $200 USD. You might find that the Justice of the Peace will ask for a fee to perform the signing.

6. Make sure you have two witnesses during your wedding ceremony. These witnesses are necessary to certify that the wedding took place on the island.
