Over time, a Wii remote can get a lot of abuse. Sweaty hands, overzealous game play and neglect can eventually wreak havoc on your controllers. If you're worried about your controllers, you could benefit from knowing how to use a silicone glove to protect the Wii remote from rough housing and wear and tear. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Silicone glove
  • Wii remote
Step1
Choose your color. Silicone gloves for Wii remotes come in a variety of colors and styles. You can choose from a two-tone version, or something classic like a red/blue Mario glove. There are even silicone gloves that come with a matching nunchuk glove, which is great for boxing. Choose your favorite style, and if you have more than one remote, choose a few different colors to help distinguish the remotes for different players.
Step2
Remove the glove from the package.
Step3
Roll the silicon glove onto your Wii remote carefully. It takes a bit of tugging to get the glove on, since the fit is very snug. Begin by bunching the glove up, placing the tip of the Wii remote into the silicone and then rolling the glove over the rest of the remote. Adjust as needed, making sure that all the buttons are visible.
Step4
Change out the wrist strap. If your silicone glove comes with a matching wrist strap, you should remove the old one and replace it with the new version.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that your Wii remote is synced and has a fresh set of batteries before installing the glove.
