The Jacksonville International Airport is operated by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) and is located 18 miles north of downtown one mile west of Interstate 95. When traveling by airplane to Florida, you can alleviate possible stress by familiarizing yourself with a few key points.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Check for any flight delays on JAA's website prior to leaving. This step will save you any unnecessary waiting time.
Step2
Arrive at the destination. Ground transportation includes area and hotel shuttles, rental cars, limos and taxis. A taxi costs on average $30 from downtown.
Step3
Follow the signs to pick up a passenger if applicable. You can temporarily park in a courtesy lot if you're waiting for someone. The lot is located off of Airport Road and Pecan Park. This lot has up to date flight information available for viewing.
Step4
Park your car in one of the available lots at Jacksonville International if you're traveling. Valet services are available 24 hours a day, and check-in booths are on the upper level. Garage parking offers daily and hourly rates. Surface daily parking is a short distance to the main entrance, and economy lots have shuttle services available.
Step5
Enter the main terminal entrance on the upper level, and familiarize yourself with the layout. To the left and right is concourse C and A, and straight ahead is concourse B. In the middle is a courtyard area with restaurants, shopping and other services.
Step6
Know where specific points of interest are located. Baggage Claim and the general information booths are on the lower level of the main terminal. You can get maps, transportation schedules and brochures with regional information at the information booth.
Step7
Search for screens located throughout Jacksonville International Airport that note departures and arrivals. Locate your flight, and follow the signs to your designated gate.
