Step1
there are many many steps to be a good nanny. 1) YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY LOVE AND ADORE CHILDREN. having a happy childhood is not a pre-requisite.
Step2
2) you MUST ABSOLUTELY LISTEN AND OBEY the parents wishes and demands. They can get demanding at times. if your not willing to do as they say, you wont stay employed long.
Step3
3) you MUST LIKE TO COOK, CLEAN and ORGANIZE their home. you must help make their life easier as a family, and help to make their time together as a family quality time. Nannys are employed by parents who work, so family togetherness is a top priority. Make it clean, neat and tidy. Being a good nanny also means nannying the home and pets too.
Step4
4) you must be willing to go the extra mile, see a need or a problem area and try to make it better for the parent. there are times when the children are napping when you will be doing household duties. See to it that youre doing everything in your power to do them as you would in your own home and step it up a notch.
Step5
5) you MUST be reliable, dependable and ultra responsible. The family works outside the home or in some instances in the home, and they need you to be there consistently so they can get to their jobs.
Step6
6) you must have a clean record, no criminal behavior in your past as they will always check your background. if they dont they arent doing their jobs as parents. dont take the job if the fit isnt right. Think of what youre looking for in a person to care for your children if youre a parent.
Step7
7. A good nanny knows her boundaries. she knows when to back off and when to go above and beyond. She knows her duties and follows them to a T. Pretend your raising your own child. Consistency is the key to all good behavior.
