Things You'll Need:
- Newest version of iTunes (free download)
-
Step 1
As you've already learned, things can be going smoothly, you're listening to your favorite mix while working on that big presentation then OUT OF NO WHERE the volume on your iTunes goes from enjoyable to paralyzing. After turning down the volume and regathering your senses, highlight the song(s) in question and proceed to step 2.
-
Step 2
Right click on the highlighted files and select "Get Info". If this is the first time you have done this it will likely ask you if you are sure you want to change the info for multiple files at once. Click "yes" or "Okay".
-
Step 3
If you are working with multiple highlighted files at once, you will have a screen pop up that allows you enter a range of information including artist, album year and volume/EQ settings. If you only selected one item, you will need to click on the tab labeled "options".
-
Step 4
The default for most songs should be set at "none" for volume adjustment and equalizer preset. If you find the song is too loud or quiet, move the grey slider left or right depending on what adjustments you want to make.
There are also more than 20 equalizer presets that you can choose from depending on the type of music you're listening too. Try a few different settings until you find what wok best for you.
