So you are awaiting your bundle of joy? You must be glowing! Or, like a lot of women, sick as a dog! Early pregnancy is tiring, and to have morning (or "all day") sickness on top of it all? It's not easy! In this article you will learn some helpful tips to settle your growing belly!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • regular coke or ginger ale
  • sea sickness bracelets
  • peppermints
  • jolly ranchers or other hard candy
  • crackers
  • vitamin B supplements
  • water or ice

Step1
The first step to try is easy! Keep some crackers by your bed, or have somebody bring you some toast before getting out of bed. Sit up slowly, and VERY SLOWLY try to start eating. (Some ginger ale or regular coke with your food wouldn't hurt!) Rest 15-30 minutes before getting out of bed. You may find this settles your stomach and allows you to start the day off right.
Step2
Keep some crackers with you to snack on when your belly is upset. However, if crackers don't sound good, DO NOT EAT THEM!
Step3
Try wearing a seasickness bracelet. If you don't have one or can't find one, put a coin on your wrist (the underside) and put a rubber band around it.
Step4
Try sipping water all day long. Try room temp water. Very cold water can make your stomach contract and make you sick.
Step5
Try sucking on hard candy. Jolly ranchers or peppermints or ginger candy. People swear by sour candy too though (think sour patch kids)
Step6
If none of these help, the last thing you can do is talk to your doctor about vitamin B supplements. He may put you on them, or on a medicine to help eliminate the sickness.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do NOT eat anything that doesn't sound good to you!
  • Don't be afraid to throw up. It might make you feel a bit better.
  • Sleep as much as possible. Getting enough rest will help.
  • Try to drink Gatorade or always drink water. If you are throwing up a lot you could get dehydrated
  • ALWAYS talk to your doctor. They will know what's best for you.
