Ever wanted to have your own unique myspace layout, instead of having the same one as hundreds of people?

Following these steps will teach you the basics and get you well on your way to creating your own layout!

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • myspace
  • A program like paintshop pro or photoshop (OPTIONAL)
  1. Step 1

First of all, find a layout generator that is easy to use. I personally like the layout generator on http://www.mygirlyspace.com

It very easy to use, and gives you lots of options!

  2. Step 2

Find a background for your page. You can search the web, or make your own, using a program like paintshop pro or photoshop (or simple backgrounds using MS Paint). If you make your own background you will need to upload it to a site like ImageShack or Photobucket or tinypic.

  3. Step 3

To get the URL of your background, right click on it, go to properties, and it will show information about the picture including the URL.

    Highlight it.
    Copy it (ctrl c)
paste it in the area on the generator that says background url. Have it repeat down and across.

  4. Step 4

For contact tables and extended network banners you can again make your own (contact tables should be 300 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall) or you can do a google search or photobucket search. If you search on photobucket try searching contact tables and it will come up with the direct link, it's much easier! Copy and paste the URL into the spot on the generator the same way.

  5. Step 5

Try out different fonts and colors for the text.

  6. Step 6

Copy the code the generator gives you and paste in the about me section of your profile!

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice, and play around until you get comfortable with the generator you are using. Once you do then you can practice making your own images and upload them to photobucket.com and make a custom layout.
  • At mygirlyspace.com some of their layouts can be customized, that is a good way to practice as well!
  • Check out contact table generators or extended network generator too!
  • Always preview the layout before posting it. You want to make sure it looks good!
