So you're expecting a baby (or babies!)? You must be happy and glowing! Or in my experience as sick as a dog! For some people the nausea starts before they even know they are pregnant, while for others it starts a little later. It *usually* fades around 16 weeks, but in some cases can last until you deliver your baby. Morning (all day) sickness can take quite a toll on you, especially with all the other changes going on in your body, so it's no wonder you are looking for ways to ease your pain! In this article you will learn all the tips and tricks that can help settle your growing belly!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sea sickness bracelet
  • Regular coke
  • Anything ginger (ale, candy etc)
  • Vitamin B supplements
  • peppermint candy
  • jolly ranchers

Step1
When you wake up, instead of just getting out of bed, try eating some crackers and waiting 15-30 minutes before getting up.
Step2
Try sipping on some regular coke or ginger ale.
Step3
Wear a seasickness bracelet. If you can't find one you can place a coin on the underside of your wrist and put a rubberband around it to hold it in place.
Step4
Candy. Don't ask me why, but candy has helped many women I know! Try sucking on hard candy such as jolly ranchers. Any peppermint candy or ginger candy seems to work well. I have also heard of Sour Patch kids working as well!
Step5
Call your doctor and ask if vitamin B supplements are right for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't ever let yourself get hungry. You are more likely to get nauseated.
  • Try sipping on water all day. Try drinking it at room temperature, as cold water can make your stomach contract and you may vomit.
  • Getting enough rest also works for helping you feel better.
  • Don't try to fight throwing up. If you feel like you need to throw up than you probably will at some point and you might even feel better!!
  • Stay hydrated! No matter how sick you feel, try to drink as much water as you can! (gatorade is good too)
  • Tell your doctor about your morning sickness. It could be more severe than you think.
  • If anything changes or you don't feel right, call your doctor!
