This type of fruit salad is just divine and is sometimes called ambrosia, the name given in classical mythology to the food eaten by the gods. There are many variations of this dish, but it typically contains fruit, marshmallows and coconut for a light and sweet salad. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 8-ounce can pineapple chunks or 1 sliced fresh pineapple (8 ounces)
  • 2 cups thawed Cool Whip
  • 1 cup Baker's Angel Flake coconut
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherries
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

    • 1

      Mix an 8-ounce can of pineapple chunks, draining the juice first, or one fresh pineapple cut into chunks with 2 cups of thawed Cool Whip and a cup of Baker's Angel Flake coconut. Mix ingredients well.

      Add a cup of miniature marshmallows, 1/4 cup of maraschino cherries and 3 tablespoons of milk. Mix in these ingredients well.

      Cover bowl with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and chill in the refrigerator for about an hour. Makes six servings.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can leave this in the refrigerator longer than an hour if needed.

  • Serve cold

  • If you want to add or substitute any other fruits, orange slices or banana slices work well.
