Here is a quick and easy way to find out the BPM of a song

Things You'll Need:

  • Calculator
  • Stopwatch
  1. Step 1

    Time how long (as exact as possible) it takes for the song to complete 32 beats, keep this time showing.

  2. Step 2

    Take out your calculator, and divide 32 by how long it took the song to complete 32 beats.

  3. Step 3

    Multiply his number by 60

  4. Step 4

    The answer is the BPM of that song

Tips & Warnings
  • Try be exact as possible
  • A DJ could sort his records on a night out by BPM, which makes it quick to find a song with a similar BPM to the record playing
  • Always use a stopwatch to count. If you count in your head, you will count to the beat, not in seconds
