Step 1
Create your article in Word or a similar word processor. Most articles, in order to be effective for internet marketing should be between 400 and 600 words, longer is alright.

Under the Edit option on your software's menu, choose Select All.

From your software's Tools menu, select word count. Be sure to write down the number of words in your article.

Return to the Edit Menu and select find and replace. By the tab marked Find, enter your keyword; enter your keyword again in the Replace section. Click on the option to allow you to "Replace All."

When the function has been completed, the Find and Replace box will indicate how many times the term was replaced. This is the number of times that your keyword was used in the article.

Step 6
Grab your calculator, enter the number of times your keyword was used. Divide that number by the total number of words from your article. Multiply by 100 to determine the keyword density of your article.
