Things You'll Need:
- Money (Financial backing)
-
Step 1
You will have a lot to consider and a lot of planning to do. Firstly you will need to find out whether you want to build your own shop or buy one that is already there.
-
Step 2
If you are building your own shop, then you will need to ask about planning permission. If you get it, you will then need to get some quotes.
-
Step 3
No matter whether you are buying an existing shop or building one, you will need to see whether you have the finances or means to do this. If not then you may need to ask for a loan and therefore you will need a business plan.
-
Step 4
If you have the money, the planning permission and everything else that you need, then you will then need to start designing how you want the shop to look. You will also need to consider what you want to sell in your fish and chip shop too. Then you need to consider where abouts you will get your stock from, how much it will cost, will you get any staff and revenue costs etc. So there is certainly a lot of planning to do
-
Step 5
You will need to think about how to make as much profit as possible. Also you need to see if there is any way to make your fish and chip shop better than any competition that might be around.
-
Step 6
After the fish and chip shop has been built, or if you are taking over one that’s already there, you will need to consider advertising. This can involve press releases, banners, leaflets etc.

on 10/17/2008 The fish and chip shop and catering business has competition. Though the info here is good but there is a lot more to know when opening such a business. I know people who are planning on opening a shop are doing some studying to get more knowledge of the business. There is a book on amazon.co.uk called How to run a fish and chip shop or burger written by James Li.
