Step1
Take notice to your body angle
turn your body slightly towards the camera
if your face looks full in photos do not have someone take photographs from below angle
smile - a great natural smile draws the attention immediately to your face
learn simple camera angles and which ones work best for you
don't keep your arms flat up close to your body
think about your body posture shoulders back - when you hold good posture it will make you look taller, thinner and your body more toned
wear clothes that are flattering, not to tight or too loose fitting
Step2
Some things that effect your photographs
the lighting your are in has a lot of importance to how your photograph will turn out.
shadowy light will throw shadows on your face
bright sunlight will show every imperfection on your face, it will also
show if your hair has coloring that needs to be touched up
of course the single most important thing of not taking photos in direct sunlight is that it will cause you to blink, or squint in front of the camera.
Step3
Modeling Tips on Photography
practice your favorite poses in front of a mirror and see which ones work best for you note the angle of your face and body, which poses make your look longer and thinner
wear colors that work with the film the photographer is working with
for black and white photographs you should stay away from a white or dark blouse or shirt.
you want to wear heals for length with skirts
if wearing long pants you want the pant leg to come right at the top of the shoe you don't want it to cover the shoe or rise above it with a heal it will lengthen your legs
make your hands look graceful - don't clench your hand in a fist or leave your fingers spread to far apart.

on 5/9/2008 I have an oblong facial shape. Please advice me on poses to prevent my face from looking so long. My face always looks long & thin.
