Upgrade Your Paintball Gun or Marker

You will learn the most effective ways to upgrade your paintball marker.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Money
  1. Step 1

After buying a paintball marker, one of the first things you should do is invest in an aftermarket barrel. There are many paintball companies that offer aftermarket barrels such as Dye, Smart Parts, Custom Products, Evil, and J&J just to name a few. The size of barrel you should buy depends on what style of paintball you play most. If you play x-ball, hyperball, or speedball then you might want to invest in a shorter barrel. If you are more into woodsball or senario play then you should probably invest in a longer barrel. The length doesn't affect accuracy, but it does affect how quiet your barrel is. Some people just like the way long barrels look.

  2. Step 2

The next step in upgrading your paintball marker is to buy a nitrogen tank if you do not already have one. Nitrogen is better than CO2 because of its consistency in each shot. Converting to nitrogen will also allow you to play year round, where CO2 will often freeze up in the winter.

  3. Step 3

Your next step in upgrading your marker is buying an expansion chamber or low pressure chamber. This will allow you air or CO2 to fully expand before it enters the bolt area.

  4. Step 4

The next step is to get an anti-chop bolt. This is probably one of the best upgrades for your gun. These bolts are gun specific and will not allow your bolt to chop a ball in half, leaving your barrel clean as a whistle.

  5. Step 5

Another way to upgrade your gun is to buy an electric hopper. The electric hopper will agitate the balls in some way, allowing you to shoot more paintballs per second.

Tips & Warnings
  • These upgrades are listed in no specific order and can be done whenever you choose.
  • If you are unsure how to install something, take it to your local paintball store or field and they will be happy to assist you.
