However, if you would like to enjoy these shows from somewhere other than the comfort of your own settee, then there is another option. Getting a seat in the live audience for these shows is not very difficult, and what's more, it's free! Here's how.

      Go to www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours. By clicking on the link "Book free tickets for shows" you will arrive on the relevant page of the BBC website.

      Browse through the list of available shows. This is frequently updated as more audiences are required.

      Join the mailing list. By clicking on this link you will be able to register to receive updates of all shows where audience tickets are available.

      Get tickets. This can done by clicking on the show of your choice or by phoning the BBC ticket-line on 0870 9011227.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the show you wish to see is not listed on the website, write to the BBC to request tickets for your favoured show as these will be allocated on first-come first-served basis.

  • Your tickets will arrive approximately 2 weeks before the show.

  • Check for the minimum age limit of the show you wish to see. Anyone under the stated age will not be allowed in.

  • Only limited numbers are available. If unsuccessful, try again.
