Instructions

-
1
Protect the bathtub with an old blanket. Remove faucets and spouts.
-
2
Remove loose wall tiles, if necessary. Repair the drywall. The tub surround kit must have a clean flat surface or the adhesives don't work.
-
-
3
Make a template of the faucet wall using the carton the tub surround came in. Place the cardboard against the plumbing fixtures to position holes properly. Use the template to measure twice and cut once on the tub surround wall. Utilize a jigsaw or hole-saw to make the cuts.
-
4
Mark the front and top edges of the tub surround on the wall. Check the manufacturer's directions. If you need to, shave some of the edge off to make the surround plumb with your wall.
-
5
Put in the corner pieces. Run a bead of adhesive on them as well as the peel-and-stick adhesive that comes with them.
-
6
Measure the long center piece of the tub surround. Mark its center. Mark the back center of the tub. Make sure that piece fits into the corner pieces properly and that the center marks align properly. Apply adhesive, spreading an extra bead around the soap holders. Slip the tub surround into the corner pieces. Start at the bottom and work your way up to make sure all the adhesive sticks to the wall.
-
7
Install the remaining two sections. Use the adhesive and progress upwards to set panels to the wall. Seal all the edges with caulk. Let everything dry at least 24 hours before using. Replace the faucets.
