Imagine a job where you can escort visitors through movie sets, rides and phenomenal shows. Believe it or not, this job does exist at Universal Studios. Universal Studios is a theme park located in Hollywood and Orlando in the U.S. and in Japan. There are rides, shows, attractions and more. If you would like a job at Universal Studios, it's not as simple as filling out an application.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Determine which Universal Studios would be the best location for you to seek employment. Universal Studios is located in Orlando, Florida, Hollywood, California as well as overseas in Japan.
Step2
Visit the website of the Universal Studios of your choice to find out if they are hiring Tour Guides. Pick up an application or have one mailed to you.
Step3
Fill out an application online, in person or via the mail. Make sure you fill out the application completely and honestly.
Step4
Submit your application to the appropriate person. Leave behind a resume if you have one.
Step5
Contact the hiring department approximately one week after submitting your application, if you have not heard back from Universal Studios' hiring staff. Tell them you are verifying that they received your application for a Tour Guide. This shows a true desire and interest to be on their staff.
Step6
Practice a mock interview at home. Have a friend or family member be the interviewer and ask typical interview questions. This will help ease the jitters associated with an interview.
Step7
Go for your interview at your scheduled time. Be about ten minutes early. This shows punctuality, a desired quality in any employee. Be pleasant, polite and genuine.
Step8
Wait for the phone call saying you got the job as a Tour Guide. Thank the person calling you for letting you know.

Tips & Warnings

  • On your application, put "N/A" in all blanks that are not applicable. This shows that you saw the blank and did not just forget to fill it in.
  • Make sure you read their dress code online before you go for your interview. It makes an excellent impression if they can see you are the type of person they are looking for in a Tour Guide.
