Hand warts are a common ailment caused by the HPV virus. Any type of wart on the body is caused by this virus. Hand warts can come in many shapes and sizes and appear either reddish or whitish in color. Hand warts can also appear in small clusters on the palms. There are several treatment options for hand warts.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Buy an over-the-counter wart remover. Choose from freezing options, ointments and bandages that contain salicylic acid that cause the wart to disappear.
Step2
Purchase an organic, all-natural wart remover. Look for products that use oils from plants to remove warts found on the body. The warts disappear within 2 to 6 weeks of treatment.
Step3
Visit your doctor to have the wart frozen with liquid nitrogen. A blister will form and cause the wart to fall off.
Step4
Opt for laser treatment. A laser burns the blood vessels within the wart. This causes the wart to die and fall off. This procedure is less popular than the freezing option.
Step5
Try duct tape. One at-home remedy is to place duct tape over the infected area. Soak your hand in the evening and rub the wart with an emery board. Cover with duct tape. Repeat this daily, and the wart should disappear after several weeks.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can opt to not treat the hand wart at all. In many cases, especially with children, the body's immune system will cure the warts on its own.
  • Hand warts can easily be passed to another person, so it is important to keep the wart covered.
