With all those suits, women's office attire can get expensive. But your wardrobe doesn't have to damage your paycheck. With some careful coordination and savvy shopping, you can save money on just about all your clothing for the office.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stick with neutrals. They say black goes with everything, and it's basically true. The same works for navy. You can wear a neutral suit a couple times in one week by mixing and matching with different blouses and accessories. The neutral color suits don't draw attention. No one can tell if you're wearing the same navy suit you wore yesterday. When you wear a red suit, however, it looks like the same red suit you wore the day before because people assume you only own one red suit.

  2. Step 2

Choose classic pieces. Instead of buying suits, buy separates. Get basic black or navy skirts, pants and blazers you can mix and match. Classic, as opposed to trendy, cuts will last longer, look stylish and coordinate easily.

  3. Step 3

Shop seasonal sales. At the end of each season, department stores discount what is left to make room for the new season of clothing. This is the best time to shop for suits and separates for the office.

  4. Step 4

Buy at discounters. Many retail discount stores feature women's clothing. You can save money by buying your office clothes at a discount in these stores. Be sure to watch for quality because you want your classic office wardrobe to last, even if you didn't pay a lot for it. When in doubt, stick with name-brand merchandise.
