Things You'll Need:
- Spoon
-
Step 1
Choose a spoon. While size is not too important, a teaspoon or tablespoon is often easiest to work with.
-
Step 2
Take the spoon in your right hand. With your thumb, hold the spoon handle against your fingers. The spoon handle should be pointing up and the bowl should be pointing down. Keep the top of the handle so it does not protrude above your right index finger. When the spoon is in position, close your fingers around the handle and make a fist.
-
Step 3
Grasp your right hand with your left hand. Wrap your left hand fingers your clenched right hand. Now that you have hidden your right hand, slip your right pinkie finger behind the spoon handle. Try to do this with little movement of your hands or the spoon, or else the audience might get suspicious.
-
Step 4
Put the bowl of the spoon on a tabletop or other flat surface. Do this so the convex part of the bowl is touching the table. Now bend your wrists and tilt your hands away from you, letting the spoon handle flatten out while remaining hidden in between your palms. Your audience will think you have bent the spoon.
-
Step 5
Pick up the spoon using both hands, and take the bowl in your left hand. Slide your right hand along the handle to give the appearance of straightening the spoon back to its original position. By the time your hand reaches the end of the handle, the spoon will appear to have been straightened.
