Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Quarter or silver dollar
  • Handkerchief or piece of fabric
  1. Step 1

Hold a heavy coin, like a quarter or silver dollar, between your thumb and index finger of your your right hand. The coin should be pointing up.

  2. Step 2

Cover your hand and the coin with a piece of cloth or a handkerchief, with one corner resting on your right arm and the diagonal corner hanging in front of your hand. You should be able to notice the coin jutting up under the fabric.

  3. Step 3

Adjust the coin (through the handkerchief) using your left fingers and thumb. While doing this, bring your right thumb back from the coin and squeeze a bit of fabric between it and the coin.

  4. Step 4

With your left hand, bring the front corner of the handkerchief(the corner that is dangling) and pull it towards you, to show the audience that the coin is still under it. In a quick motion, grab the corner of the handkerchief that is lying on your arm and the front corner. Bring them both back to the front. They should be dangling in front of your hand.

  5. Step 5

Twist the handkerchief, starting at the bottom corners. When it is tight, pretend to be pushing the coin through the handkerchief (in reality, it is free and can be easily revealed at any point). Show the coin and the handkerchief, without a hole.
