With this sleight-of-hand, you tear open a dinner roll to reveal a coin. This trick can be performed quickly, with only one finger-palm maneuver. This magic trick requires no preparation, making it an ideal impromptu trick for a dinner party or an informal social gathering.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Quarter or half dollar
• Dinner roll

1. Use your right hand to finger palm the coin, and quickly wave your hands in front of the audience, making it appear they are empty.

2. Pick up a dinner roll with your left hand and show the audience that it is intact.

3. Transfer the roll so that you are holding it in both hands.

4. Push the coin into the underside of the dinner roll, being careful not to expose the coin to the audience.

5. With your thumbs, tear open the dinner roll, revealing the coin.

Tips & Warnings

• For this trick, you can also use a biscuit in place of a dinner roll. You can also vary up this trick by taking a bite of the roll to reveal the coin instead of breaking it open. This also allows you to cover up the evidence that the coin was pushed through the bottom of the roll.
