How to Dress a Young Boy for a Wedding

Bringing young boys to a wedding comes with its challenges. You look for ways to keep them busy during the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception. But before all that, you must find an appropriate outfit for them to wear. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the type of attire required for all guests. You must dress your toddler boy one way for a formal wedding and another for a casual wedding.

    • 2

Purchase a suit, or a jacket and a tie for a formal wedding. Look for a comfortable outfit, possibly with a clip on tie and room enough in the jacket to move around. Shorts are acceptable for a summer formal wedding, but make sure you pair it with a jacket and tie.

    • 3

Outfit your young boy in a collared shirt and khaki or navy blue pants. For indoor, church weddings, insist on a belt, but for outdoor or beach weddings, an un-tucked collared shirt is acceptable.

    • 4

Complete your toddler's outfit with comfortable brown or black shoes. Dirty white sneakers or dirty shoes in general, are not appropriate, even for young children. A nice pair of sandals can also work for a casual outdoor wedding or a beach wedding.

    • 5

Pack a back-up outfit. Children are notorious for spilling, especially when they are in situations without high chairs or booster seats. You want your child to look appropriate during the reception where candid pictures are taken.
