Step 1
Know which Gamecube you're using. Frequently, one controller is more responsive than others because it is newer, a different model or simply has not seen as much abuse. Always make sure that other players have the weaker Gamecube controllers.
-
Step 2
Check the Internet for "walkthroughs" of games. These are step-by-step descriptions of the games, complete with details about enemies, traps and secret bonuses throughout each level. They are essentially an insider's guide to the game and can be useful in avoiding dead ends and ensuring that you collect all power-ups and bonuses. A player versed in a walk-though has a great advantage over a player who does not know what to expect.
-
Step 3
Make alliances in multiplayer games to concentrate on thwarting another player. Technically, two players agreeing to team up against a third is not cheating; it is diplomacy.
-
Step 4
Distract other players while playing. Talk to them, sing or even sour the room with rude bodily functions.
-
Step 5
Use "cheats." Cheats are codes entered into a game or sequences button presses entered into a game to unlock hidden bonuses, advantages and other features. Some cheats will allow additional characters to be used, grant extraordinary powers to a player or merely allow for costume or music changes. The famous "Konami Code," (up twice, down twice, left, right, left, right, B, A) was the first cheat of this nature. Kazuhisa Hashimoto, the developer of the NES version of Gradius, created the cheat because he could not beat the arcade version of the game.

Step 6
Touching another player or their controller and blocking the view of other players is inappropriate. These actions are beyond cheating and never allowed in a serious game.
