Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what your main dish will be. A meat dish such as turkey, chicken or ham is traditional, but you could serve a pasta dish or something exotic as Christmas dinner.

  2. Step 2

Determine how you'd like to start dinner off. Drinks like egg nog as well as appetizers or hors d'oeurves are classy additions to a Christmas gathering, or maybe you'd like to begin dinner with a freshly tossed green salad.

  3. Step 3

Choose what side dishes you'd like to serve. Those based on fruits, vegetables and potatoes are popular, but the room for creativity is endless. For a creative and different side dish, why not wow your guests with spinach all'agro or masaledar sem?

  4. Step 4

Offer breads or rolls that mesh well with the main entree you will be serving. From cornbread to dinner rolls to freshly baked rye bread, everyone loves warm bread with melted butter.

  5. Step 5

Finish with a tasty dessert. Cakes, trifles, pies and specialty creations are all up for grabs. To really make it fit for Christmas, throw in fruit cake or fig pudding. Anything with peppermint also works.

  6. Step 6

Write down the details of the food you'll be serving and type them up, or nicely write them by hand onto cards, in the order you'll be serving the food. Title each card "menu." If you have time, look for Christmas-themed stationary.

  7. Step 7

Place individual menus at each guests' seat next to their name cards, prior to their arrival.
