Caring for your skin in your twenties is different than in the years before. Though your skin is still young and firm, your twenties is the time to prevent future problems. Factors such as genetics, nutrition, lifestyle and age contribute to healthy skin. Follow these steps to learn to care for twenty-something skin.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start preventing wrinkles and continue preventing acne. Use an anti-wrinkle/anti-blemish cleanser designed for twenty-something skin to cleanse your face without stripping it of its natural oils.

  2. Step 2

Focus on unclogging your pores while still providing moisture. For acne prone skin, use a cleanser and topical cream with salicylic acid. Benzoyl peroxide becomes ineffective when you leave your teenage years.

  3. Step 3

Use a moisturizer made for your skin type with an added sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher. Apply moisturizer every time you wash your face as part of a normal routine. Use eye cream to prevent wrinkles around the eyes.

  4. Step 4

Exfoliate skin weekly to slough off dead skin cells, revealing soft skin.

  5. Step 5

Eat and drink healthily. Drink at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water a day and limit sugar and fat intake, which can speed up the aging of your skin cells and the rest of your body.

  6. Step 6

Exercise to keep circulation going, burn fat and build muscle. The healthier your body is on the inside, the healthier and younger it will look on the outside.

  7. Step 7

See a dermatologist to discuss skin issues and procedures.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid using soap, which dries out skin. Use a cleanser with moisturizers or aloe vera to keep skin healthy.
  • Don't forget sunscreen on your hands and body. Use a body lotion with SPF 15 or higher.
  • Stop smoking. Smoking slows oxygen from getting to the outer layer of your skin and prematurely ages skin.
  • Avoid scrubbing your skin when cleansing or exfoliating. Gently massage skin in a circular motion.

on 10/12/2007 Benzol Peroxide is necessary in fighting the bacteria that causes acne. Salicylic acid sheds dead skin cells. They have 2 different purposes, thus BP is not ineffective, it depends on what's causing your acne. Even as an adult.
