Christmas is a fun and exciting time of year filled with memories and traditions. Starting an ornament collection is a great way to preserve memories. Whether decorating one tree or several themed trees, ornaments are a decoration that there can never be too many of. Make adding ornaments to your collection a treasured holiday tradition.

  1. Step 1

    Purchase ornaments for each child every Christmas. Start with a baby's first Christmas ornament and add a new one each year.

  2. Step 2

    Purchase ornaments while traveling. Reminisce about your travel adventures as each ornament is put on the tree.

    Purchase collectible ornaments that are theme oriented. Look for companies that produce a new ornament in each collection every holiday season.

  4. Step 4

    Buy ornaments for family members that reflect their interests for the previous year. Find specialty and personalized ornaments online.

  5. Step 5

    Buy miniature ornaments if your decorating space is limited. Purchase a miniature tree for each collection.

    Find vintage Christmas ornaments in antique shops October through December. Find antique ornaments online as well.
