Usually bat boys will get equipment together before the game starts, collect the bats after a player has batted, clean players cleats and wash the batting helmets.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate a pro baseball team near you. Professional baseball not only includes the major leagues. There are minor league teams, which may be in a city where you live. It may be easier to get hired on as a bat boy with one of these pro teams.

  2. Step 2

Call teams in your area and ask what the application process is to become a bat boy. Some teams may have information on their website. Find out if they have a waiting list.

  3. Step 3

Fill out an application. Include all baseball experience you have.

  4. Step 4

Watch for contests to become a bat boy for the day. Some teams hold contests occasionally. It is a chance to see what the job is like and let the person in charge of hiring bats boys see you work hard.

  5. Step 5

Get in good shape. Bay boys do a lot of running around picking up equipment. They need to have stamina and strength to do this for nine innings.

  6. Step 6

Ask around. Talk to everyone you know about your desire to be a bat boy for a professional baseball team. Ask family, coaches and teachers if they know any one in the baseball organization that you hope to get hired on with. It may help to have a referral.
