Part of the fun in making a candy wrapper purse is eating the candies to get enough wrappers. These purses are great for recycling wrappers that would otherwise be thrown in the trash. With a little practice, make candy wrapper purses in no time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Eat candy from four packages of your favorite candy. Carefully open the packages so that there will be plenty of wrapper to work with.

  2. Step 2

Cut the front and back of the wrappers out by cutting off the crimping that seals the edges together.

  3. Step 3

Lay out a piece of contact paper large enough to fit all of the wrapper pieces. Remove the backing.

  4. Step 4

Lay the piece of the wrapper out, face down on the contact paper. Lay five wrappers side by side lengthwise.

  5. Step 5

Lay two wrappers side by side for one side. Lay two more wrappers side by side for the other side. Cut out all of the candy wrappers.

  6. Step 6

Fold the edges of the big piece up so that two wrappers for the front and back and one wrapper forms the bottom. Reinforce the purse with card board. Tape all of the pieces together with clear duct tape.

  7. Step 7

Punch four holes in the top of the front and back pieces for the handles. Thread beads on craft wire and loop the wire through the holes, finishing off the ends with a twist.

Tips & Warnings
  • Line the purse with matching fabric.
  • Use chip wrappers to make a larger purse.
  • Put grommets in the holes for extra reinforcement.
