Snap is a search engine that combines text searches with visual images of the linked websites. Searchers can tell immediately if it is a useful website. Snap's search engine also provides an intuitive search box that helps produce better search results. In addition to basic search, Snap has a number of widgets such as weather, coupons, company information and maps. Read on to learn how to speed up web searches with Snap.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Download the Snap toolbar. To complete the installation process, you must agree to the license agreement. The toolbar appears in the upper left corner of your computer screen. You can move it to wherever you would like it.
Step2
Click on the toolbar. It expands to give you the following default search boxes: Snap, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay and Dictionary.
Step3
Perform a search on Snap using the search box. Two windows open side-by-side. On the left, there are traditional text-type search results. On the right, there is a preview of the website that is highlighted in the search results. Also on the lower right side, there is a button that says "Go To Site." Clicking on it takes you to the live website.
Step4
Use your up and down arrow keys to perform a speed search. "Page Up" and "Page Down" take you through entire pages of search results quickly.
Step5
Adjust settings. Search term suggestions may be turned on or off. Snap provides an adult-only warning system that you can regulate. Also, you can set the preview size of images based on your preferences.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you rely on a dial-up Internet connection, Snap isn't for you because of its high-speed delivery.
  • You can change your preferences to whatever search engines, news groups, reference, utility, e-commerce or media groups you prefer.
