You've made your big purchase, the antique car of your dreams. Now all you need to keep your car running and in tip-top shape is to find a mechanic that specializes in the same type of antique cars as the one you own.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Locate an antique car club. Car club members can supply crucial knowledge about owning and keeping up an old model car. Even if there isn't a car club in your immediate area, there may be one nearby and a member may be able to recommend a mechanic.
Step2
Join a car club blog that specializes in your type of car. Blog members may be able to tell you where to find a mechanic in your area.
Step3
Look in the phone book. Once you've found the listing for a mechanic that repairs your type of car, call the office and ask for the mechanic's qualifications and any references.
Step4
Put an ad in your local newspaper or on CraigsList stating that you are looking for a specialized mechanic. Prepare specific questions to ask the mechanic when you get a response to your ad.
Step5
Skip the mechanic and learn how to fix your own car. Keeping up proper maintenance and learning how to fix the little things may keep you from having to visit the mechanic, and antique cars are much easier to fix than contemporary cars.
