One of the world's largest wholesalers, Costco is well-known for promoting current employees and can offer careers with excellent prospects to people determined to rise within the ranks. Costco employs people with experience in a wide variety of retail and customer services, so getting your foot in the door is possible no matter what your specific employment background might be.

1
Decide which sector you want to work in. Costco operates large warehouse and shipping operations, as well as a wide variety of customer services in stores. Labor-oriented folks are more suited to supply chain work, whereas service-oriented ones are better off applying for in-store positions.
-
2
Head to your local Costco store(s) to see what positions are currently being filled. If you qualify for any of them, you'll likely be able to fill out an application on the spot and personally deliver it to a manager or human resources person.
-
-
3
Prepare for an interview at a Costco by reviewing your employment experience, gathering your references and getting ready to demonstrate a commitment to customer service. If you'll be working in a warehouse or in shipping, it's a good idea to have at least a couple years' experience in a similar working environment on your resume.
-
4
Check on Costco's website to see what positions are currently being filled in your area (see Resources below). Most Costco locations are hiring throughout the year, and you can become an employee either by applying directly to positions you qualify for or submitting your resume and asking to be considered for specific positions when they become available in your area.
-
5
Become a Costco employee to take advantage of direct access to company training programs that can improve your professional credentials and, in turn, your job prospects with the company. After all, Costco promotes from within as a company policy. Much of Costco's middle management employees started out at the entry level and simply worked their way into their present positions.

Tips & Warnings
Costco offers career opportunities that go beyond simply in-store customer service positions or warehouse workers. Corporate and regional offices also require accounting, graphic design, marketing, journalism and human resources staff.
Remember that Costco positions cover everything from deli counters to tire salesmen to cashiers to pharmacist assistants. No matter what type of work experience you have, it will help you become a Costco employee.

I am not an employee, or ever have been of Costco, but they do have very silly hiring methods that they use at times. As in Dumb & Dumber type methods. Good luck! -

The real way to become an employee is apply mid september right before seasonal. They bring people in mid october. I work there, only applied once and was called in for an interview a week later. Prepare for 3 interviews and a drug test. Also, unless you have connections be prepared to start on front end (aka boxing peoples groceries, or pushing carts) all that other stuff is honestly just BS. so actually apply soon :) -

I am a retired dentist with great skills in food appreciation. In other words i would love to be the quality control officer onndew food and or wines that you have in your stores. I am well off finacially enough that money would not be my primary interes. I would work for nothing for the chance to improve the food products that come into your stores. -
