Instructions

  1. Write a Flight Attendant Job Cover Letter

    • 1

Write about your level of experience in a summary fashion by stating the number of years you have worked as a flight attendant and in what capacity. If you are looking to move forward with your career, indicate how your leadership experience makes you qualified to move on to a position of greater authority within the flight crew.

    • 2

Include information regarding your level of education. Flight attendants must have some prior training in order to qualify for certain positions. At a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent is required to be part of a flight attendant training program.

    • 3

Indicate what foreign languages you can speak fluently as part of your cover letter. This is a particularly important piece of information to highlight if you are applying for a flight attendant position which will require travel abroad or to certain U.S. territories.

    • 4

Read the flight attendant job posting carefully. Many airlines will place a height requirement on all applicants and you may need to include this information in your cover letter to make it through the pre-screening process.

    • 5

Be sure to write about your experience in customer service in your cover letter. This is one of the most important qualifications employers look for when hiring flight attendants. Any position in which you worked directly with the public may qualify as customer service experience.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you use enough postage for the application packet you send in. Since resume paper is generally of a heavier weight than most writing paper, you should go the extra mile and weigh your envelope to ensure that you apply the proper amount of postage to it.

  • If the airline requests email applications only, be sure to test any attachments you are sending, such as your resumé. Always send files which will be compatible with the receiver's computer system, such as PDF files.

  • Make sure that you include your contact information on both your cover letter and your resume, just in case they get separated.
