This article will teach you how to make brown sugar frosting. It is good to use on bundt cakes or pound cake.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 Cup of Brown Sugar (Packed Firmly into the Cup)
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 4 Tablespoons of Cold Water
  • Electric Mixer
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Double Boiler
  • Stovetop heated to Medium-High Heat
  • Wooden Mixing Spoon

Step1
Heat the water in the bottom of the double boiler on a medium-high heat. In the top of pan of the double boiler put the 1 cup of brown sugar (packed firmly into cup), 1 egg white, and 4 tablespoons of cold water.
Step2
Put the top pan onto the now boiling water and mix with your electric mixer until thickened and stiff peaks form.
Step3
Remove from heat and gently stir in the 1 teaspoon of vanilla with your wooden mixing spoon. This type of spoon (with no holes in it) is gentler on the frosting mixture. You can use this immediately on any kind of bundt cake or poundcake.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't over mix with the electric mixer or it will become runny.
