on 12/19/2007 This caught my eye and I thought I would throw my two cents worth in. Funerals are expensive! After burying my Mother twenty two years ago and my Father three years ago I made a decision. I would never, ever, ever put my daughter through the pain and expense this cost me. I just finished paying (financing) for my burial plot and my funeral. All my legal documents are in the safety deposit box we share with a cover sheet of what to do and who to call. Everything is done. Even the flowers are paid for. All my daughter has to do is make a phone call and show up. This to me is love. Funerals are about celebrating a loved one's life, not merging grief with despair and overwhelm. Thanks for the article.
